The user’s right to the city
2016 – 2020
This research develops the figure of the “user” as a way of reconsidering participation, technological infrastructures and collective agency in contemporary cities. Bringing together urban theory, artistic practice and digital culture, it addresses questions of automation, public space, platform capitalism and self-management. The research generated installations, artist publications and essays that extend Henri Lefebvre’s idea of the right to the city into the digital age.
